DACIEN.
led by lowr davorak, dacien is a surf crew on the lower east side of australia. these guys are the best of the best. they put in every ounce of their effort into their craft and get little in return. the dacien work for everything they get and earn every little bit of it. they use second hand equipment and barely meet requirements for their boards and uniforms, unlike their surf counterparts.
HAAKON.
emerald roberts bought her way into haakon with daddy’s plastic card. the haakon bow to her and in return she buys them the best of the best. they party all night and sport high class shades and hardcore hangovers in the morning. practice, what’s practice? they have the best coaches, the best boards, the best everything. who needs practice when talent can be bought. no one ever thought that the rich kids from the upper east side would dominate the surf scene, but when you’ve got the money, anything can happen.
TEAM RIVALRY.
the dacien team hates haakon because while they bust their asses for everything they do, for every metal the place, for every wave they ride the haakon team just sits back and watches, yet seems to hit just as hard as they do. the haakon have finally proven that money does buy talent and the dacien hate that. not all, but some of the haakon are jealous of what the dacien can do without the extensive training of the best surf coaches on the island. i mean, to be born with that raw talent… who wouldn’t kill for that?
LOCAL RIVALRY.
if you rep dacien, you better not be talking to a haakon fan and the same goes for haakon fans. this rivalry goes deeper than the teams, it’s spread to the fans. there are bars made strictly for haakon fans, but that’s only because the haakon are rich. the dacien fans congregate together as well, garage parties are always a must when watching surfing on tv. they say the hakkon party better, but the dacien party harder. i suppose, it’s to each his own. just remember, haakon and dacien don’t mix.
VISITORS.
you’ve come to east australia for some good old relaxation at the shai’amor resort? well, expect to be caught in the cross fire of some good old island rivalry. you can relax all you’d like, just know that you’ll experience some amazing surfing and some hardcore fights amongst surfers and fans. this isn’t exactly the place to relax, but it sure is the place for drama and excitement.
